Academics

Ashland University currently offers over 40 degree programs which are organized into several divisions, with seven primary academic schools.

College of Arts & Sciences
Ashland University's College of Arts comprises a broad array of academic departments nad programs in the fine arts, humanities, physical sciences and mathematics. At the undergraduate level, CAS offers fourteen majors leading to the B.A. or B.S. degree. CAS brings students together with faculty who are not only dedicated educators, but also leaders in research, scholarship and creative expression.

Degree Programs: Ancient History, Art, Biology, Chemistry, Drama, Fashion Design, Film/Media, History, Mathematics, Marine Biology, Music, Performing Arts, Philosophy and Physics

College of Business
Ashland University's College of Business now offers an MBA degree program, taught by senior Ashland faculty with decades of experience. They are complemented by key executives recruited as visiting professors from throughout the region - industry leaders who have built stellar careers in today's global business world.

Degree Programs: E-Business, Economics and International Relations

School of Journalism & Communication Studies
Ashland University's Schol of Journalism & Communication Studies has a focus on the high-tech future of media with a mission to train the next generation of TV correspondents, producers and anchors, newspaper reports and editors, online news mangers, designers and reporters and writers.

Degree Programs: Communication Technology, Creative Writing, Journalism, Languages, Literature and Web Design

School of Criminal Justice
The School of Criminal Justice at Ashland University, through partnerships with agencies within and related to the criminal justice field, creates the fundamental preparation for successful careers and responsible citizenship. The academic pursuit of excellence for both students and faculty is provided in a learning environment that combines theoretical knowledge with practical application.

Degree Programs: Criminal Justice, Government, Law, Political Science

School of Education & Social Welfare
Innovation in teaching methods has been a hallmark of Ashland University since our founding. This creative spirit still thrives in our School of Education, where advanced techniques and early experiences in the classroom help students become teachers reading to meet the expectations of today's students. With three undergraduate education major tracks, the School of Education is nationally accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). The School also offers programs that prepare students for various levels of professional practice in the field of social welfare. The curriculum reflects an institutional commitment to a more just society, based on equality, human dignity and social justice.

Degree Programs: Education, Psychology, Social Work, and Sociology

College of Engineering & Applied Sciences
Ashland University's College of Engineering and Applied Sciences aims to provide students with a solid foundation that prepares them to adapt to technological change throughout their careers. At the undergraduate level, CEAS offers five majors. Hands-on laboratory sources, the undergraduate internship program, and the senior design project provide practical experience in engineering that complements theoretical training.

Degree Programs: Computing, Crisis Management, Electrical Engineering, Game Engineering, and Genetic Science

School of Medicine
The School of Medicine at Ashland University is responsible for the preclinical and clinical education of medical students. As the only School of Medicine in the region, it offers excellent research and clinical opportunities and has attracted a faculty of national and international renown.

Degree Programs: Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing and Sports Medicine
